Windsor High School 1905

This is a post card picture of the Windsor High School in 1905 and note that the Gym on the west side is not there. The cornestone was laid on 4 July 1905. In 1913 an additional room was added and in 1919 the gym was added

Windsor Grade School in 1949

This is a post card picture of the Windsor Grade School in about 1949. The cafeteria was located in the basement and lead directly to the gym by going up a few stairs. The Windsor Community High School was organized in 1921 in this building and continued until the new high school was build.

Windsor High School Before Addition

The school was bulld with a grant of $53,181 dollars from the Public Works Admistration and a loan of $65,000 for a total cost of $118,818 The building was deciated 24 November 1936 with a basketball game against Sullivan. Joe Hampton and his sister Doris Hampton proformed a duet.

Windsor Grade School 1958- Opened in January 1958 with 16 classrooms. Students walked with their books from the old grade school to the new school. Phil Passalacqua of Windsor purchased the old school building for $2875 at an auction in January of 1960. He said he had no specific plans for the building. Orville Swain was the contractor for the Grade School Building which was built in 1905. The contractor was paid $5,000 for the construction of the building. A 1st edition was built in 1913 at a cost of $3,500 and the 2nd addition was added in 1919 at a cost of $12,995 which included a gymnasium.
